Key Highlights
There were 240 UHNWIs in the Dominican Republic in 2013, with an average per capita wealth of US$79.2 million, making them a prime target group for wealth sector professionals. Of this total, there were no billionaires, 34 centimillionaires and 207 affluent millionaires. UHNWIs accounted for 2.3% of the total Dominican Republic HNWI population in 2013, significantly higher than the global average of 0.7%. During the review period, the number of Dominican Republic UHNWIs increased by 27.7%, from 188 in 2009 to 240 in 2013. There was a small variation in performance between the centimillionaires and affluent HNWI, increasing by 25.9% and 29.4% respectively. WealthInsight expects the number of UHNWIs to increase by 27.3% to reach 326 in 2018. This will include no billionaires, 48 centimillionaires and 278 affluent millionaires.
