3D rendering is a process in 3D computer graphics. It converts 3D wire frame models into 2D images automatically. This is done on a computer with 3D photorealistic effects or non-photorealistic rendering. Rendering may be real-time or non real-time. Rapidly increasing processing power of a computer is facilitating higher levels of realism. Real-time rendering is often polygonal. 

Non real-time rendering enables higher quality images with limited processing power. It is often used to create animations for non-interactive media. The process of rendering consumes high computational resources as it stimulates complex physical processes. Consumers like film studios use a render farm to produce images. Compositing software is used to integrate various layers of material that have been rendered separately, into the final shot. 

FELIX Render, KeyShot, Turtle, FurryBall, Bunkspeed SHOT, and Corona Renderer are some of the well-known 3D rendering software products in the global space today. Adobe Systems, Corel, Maxon, Corus Entertainment and NewTek are established providers of 3D animation software.

Virtualization involves creation of a virtual vis-à-vis an actual version of a resource like an operating system, a server, network, storage, file, etc. It drastically alters conventional computing and has the potential to make it more scalable. Presently, virtualization can be applied to varied system layers such as server virtualization, hardware-level virtualization and operating system-level virtualization. Main advantages of virtualization are complete utilization of resources, cost-effective deployment, and savings in operational costs and power.
